Pull Down That Stronghold (Part 2) !

Brethren,

Greetings in Jesus name. It is well with you and your household in Jesus name.

We started on this topic some weeks back, and as we continue today, our eyes of understanding are enlightened in Jesus name.

One of the things mentioned earlier was that a “stronghold” is anything that can limit/hinder or that has a strong hold on you. I also said that a false (incomplete, incorrect, wrong) view of God and of yourself is a stronghold.

The breeding ground for these strongholds is the mind. No wonder the bible says… “the weapons of our warfare are mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down arguments (KJV says imaginations) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God”…2 Corinthians 10 : 4-5.

The bible talks about any high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. The message translation puts it as barriers erected against the truth of God. In other words, anything (in the realm of your mind) that tends to overshadow or water down the knowledge of God (the truth about God) - and by extension who you are in Christ Jesus, is a stronghold and it must be pulled down.

In 2 Corinthians 5:21, the bible says… “God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”.

Everyone that has accepted the work of salvation (is born again and filled with the Holy Spirit), has become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Not only have we become the righteousness of God, John 10:10 says we are also entitled to abundant life.

Anything at all that makes you see yourself less than being the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, or less than being entitled to abundant life is a stronghold.

Any imagination, belief system, ideas or circumstances that tends to speak contrary to the truth of God and the truth of who you are in Christ Jesus is a stronghold. It is a barrier erected against the knowledge of the truth. Whatever it is that has so conditioned (or programed) your mind, to the point that you believe you are unworthy to have a close (intimate) Father- Son relationship with God is a stronghold.

My prayer for you is that every barrier erected against the knowledge of God (the truth of God) and the understanding of who you are in Christ Jesus, are pulled down today in Jesus name.

  1. Thank God for His love, the gift of life & the work of salvation. – John 3:16.
  2. Pray that every stronghold that “speaks” contrary to who you truly are in Christ Jesus, and has brought about a situation or circumstance that portrays you less than what the word of God says you are, be pulled down in Jesus name.
  3. Pray that every barrier that has been erected (in the realm of the mind) against the knowledge of the truth of God be pulled down in Jesus name.
  4. Pray that God will help you come to the knowledge of the truth (1Tim. 2:4), and give you the ability to discern the truth always in Jesus name.
  5. Pray concerning all your heart’s desires..
  6. Thank God for answered prayers.
